A pair of childhood friends in Belarus faced the death penalty on Wednesday after being found guilty in the trial over a Minsk metro bombing that killed 15 people in the republic's worst post-Soviet attack.

Two women were among five people killed in an attack on the home of a Muslim cleric in the central Iraqi city of Samarra, police said on Wednesday, pointing the finger at loyalists of al-Qaeda.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said he will call a joint session of both houses of parliament to discuss the cross-border NATO air strike and the issue of a secret memorandum sent to the US military seeking help to prevent a possible military takeover in Pakistan.

17 killed, MP wounded in Iraq attacks
